Joseph L. Thornburg has been writing and recording music under the name "Jogo" since 1986--he changed his moniker to "King Jogo" for the release of 2010's Swing 'n' Swive upon discovering his distributor had another artist using the Jogo name. King Jogo's previous album, 2001's Comet Boy, was called "bewilderingly GREAT" and "HIGHLY recommended" by Erica Anderson of KSPC.

King Jogo currently lives in Southern California. As Joseph L. Thornburg, he also writes and produces other music for projects like Déann Macalla and The Jogovision Song Contest, and was a member of The Weird Brothers with guitarist Kain Thornn.
