Producer's Note
I discovered the Eurovision Song Contest when my family moved to England in 1976. For someone like me who loved music and foreign languages and cultures, it was a fascinating spectacle. I even staged my own little version in the living room for my family--I just improvised tunes and made up "foreign" sounding words as lyrics for each "song".

Since returning to the States in 1979, I hadn't given Eurovision much thought until I saw an article in the June 2010 issue of The New Yorker about the contest held earlier that year. After doing some "catching up" on YouTube, I was inspired again to do my own version, but on a much more ambitious scale: twelve real songs, with lyrics in nine different languages, with each song getting its own music video. It took much longer than I thought to complete, and though it was an exhausting and sometimes frustrating experience, I thoroughly enjoyed creating it and I hope to do it again someday.

Enjoy!
